A Culture of Goodness: Living in the Overflow of God's Nature

“O taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!” — Psalm 34:8
There’s a powerful invitation in Psalm 34:8—not just to believe in God’s goodness, but to experience it. Like the song O Taste & See from Bethel’s UNDONE album, it calls us to encounter the goodness of God firsthand. This isn’t just a moment of worship—it’s a lifestyle. A culture.
From Genesis 1:31, where God declares creation “very good,” to Moses’ cry in Exodus 33, “Show me your glory,” we see that God’s goodness is central to His nature. It’s not circumstantial. It’s consistent, unchanging, and active—working for our benefit in love, mercy, and provision.
What Is a “Goodness of God Culture”?
It’s a mindset rooted in who God is, not what’s happening around us. Psalm 107:1 reminds us, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” Romans 8:28 assures us that “in all things God works for the good of those who love him.” This culture is built on trust, gratitude, and expectation.

How Do We Cultivate It?
• Gratitude: Regularly thank God for His blessings—big and small.
• Renew the Mind: Replace fear and negativity with biblical truth.
• Expect Good: Believe that God desires to bless and favour His children.
• Meditate on Scripture: Colossians 3:1–2 urges us to set our hearts and minds on things above.
Don’t let your circumstances define your theology. Let God’s goodness shape your response to life.

Living in the Overflow
When we truly grasp God’s goodness, it changes how we live. We become carriers of hope, encouragers, and people who extend grace. We reflect His love through kindness and compassion. This is how we bring heaven to earth and extend His Kingdom.

Culture & Honour: Heaven’s Ecosystem
Culture is more powerful than strategy. It’s the ideas, customs, and behaviours that shape a people. And honour is a cornerstone of Kingdom culture.
• Honour all people (1 Peter 2:17)
• See the God-image in everyone—pull out the gold, don’t stumble over what they’re not
• Affirm value even when it’s inconvenient
• Live from your new identity—honour is our DNA

We can’t change the culture around us until we change the culture within us. Let’s anchor our lives in the unwavering goodness of God. Let’s build a culture of honour, hope, and expectation. And let’s pray for a deepening revelation of His goodness—so we can live it, share it, and see it transform our families, communities, and world.
